Jordan McMurray is leading Dublin Scioto's boys soccer program after leaving Jonathan Alder High School, where he guided the Pioneers to a 15-2-2 record and a division title in 2025.

The Marysville Journal Tribune reported McMurray's departure Aug. 27. Dublin City Schools board records show McMurray was already serving as Scioto's head boys soccer coach as of Feb. 9, when the district approved a salary adjustment for the position from $6,219 to $7,774.

The hire means McMurray was in place months before the fall season kicked off. Dublin Scioto opened its 2026 campaign with a home match against Watkins Memorial on Aug. 22.

At Jonathan Alder, McMurray left behind a program on a strong run. The Pioneers went undefeated in Kenton Trail Division play last fall, finishing 10-0-0 to claim the Central Buckeye Conference division championship. They advanced to the district final before falling to Columbus St. Francis DeSales as runner-up.

Justin Hamill, who replaced McMurray at Jonathan Alder, brings Dublin-area ties to the Pioneer sideline. Hamill previously coached at Dublin Jerome, Dublin Coffman and Grove City before serving as an assistant on Jonathan Alder's girls soccer team. He told the Marysville Journal Tribune his priorities align with the program's recent success.

"The goal every year is to win the conference and a district title, but most importantly, bringing the best version of us to every game," Hamill said.

Hamill identified Urbana, Benjamin Logan and Indian Lake as top contenders in the Central Buckeye Conference. He said DeSales, Columbus Bishop Watterson and Bexley will again challenge in the Central District.

Dublin Scioto's 2026 season is underway. The Irish play in the Ohio Capital Conference, where McMurray will face familiar Dublin programs including Jerome and Coffman.
