Dublin residents and business leaders can get a firsthand look at the city's growth strategy at a free public event Tuesday, Oct. 20, at The Exchange at Bridge Park.

The Economic Development Strategy and Envision Dublin Update runs from 4 to 6 p.m., according to the city's economic development office. City staff, business leaders and community partners will discuss Dublin's economic momentum, key development projects and progress on the Envision Dublin Community Plan.

The event comes during a busy stretch for Dublin's development pipeline. The city's Planning and Zoning Commission approved a final development plan for Bridge North in July, a mixed-use project along Riverside Drive that includes 75,000 square feet of office space, 60,000 square feet of retail, housing, structured parking and a 150-room Tempo by Hilton hotel, as NBC4 reported.

Dublin also earned full certification from the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) on Oct. 15, according to a city announcement. The certification, based on a written submission and an in-person audit, evaluated the city's technology innovation, business ecosystem and workforce development programs. ICF co-founder Robert Bell said the process scores communities on 50 metrics across six categories and shows that midsize cities like Dublin can chart their own economic path.

Jeremiah Gracia, Dublin's director of economic development, has framed the city's approach around investment and collaboration. In September, when announcing the annual Dublin Pitch entrepreneurship competition, Gracia Gracia said in a September sponsored article published by Columbus Underground that "Dublin's economic strength is rooted in our willingness to invest in innovation, connectivity and collaboration."

The ICF announcement highlighted several results of that approach. Dublin's Fiber to Every Home network, built with telecom operator altafiber, was completed ahead of schedule and now gives more than 15,000 homes access to speeds up to 10 gigabits. The Dublin Entrepreneurial Center houses an average of 50 companies and support organizations each year. The city is home to more than 4,000 companies, and its daytime population exceeds 70,000 despite a residential population of about 50,000.

The event is free.

It runs from 4 to 6 p.m. at The Exchange at Bridge Park in the Bridge Street District and is open to anyone who does business in Dublin, invests in the city or wants to learn about its direction.
