Dr. Marguerite Weston built a functional medicine division from scratch at a Dublin practice, and Columbus Business First put her name among the region's most influential women for it.

Weston, director of functional medicine at Donaldson Health, received a Trailblazer honor at the publication's 2026 Women of Influence Awards. She was one of 31 women selected from 138 nominations across five categories. The awards reception took place July 23 at the Exchange at Bridge Park.

The Dublin Chamber of Commerce published the announcement on Aug. 5. The Women of Influence Awards, now in its fourth year, recognizes women who shape their organizations, give back to the Central Ohio community and mentor the next generation of leaders. Categories include Trailblazer, Mentor, Nonprofit Leader, Community Champion and Rising Star.

The recognition caps a four-year run that began when Weston joined Donaldson Health in June 2022 with a specific mandate: create a physician-led functional medicine program grounded in diagnostic testing rather than a supplement-forward wellness model. At the time, no such division existed in Columbus, according to a statement distributed by the practice. The Dublin-based practice, which also operates a Lewis Center location, is led by board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Jeffrey Donaldson and Dr. Michelle Sieffert alongside Weston's functional medicine team.

What started as a single-provider operation has grown into a seven-person team covering dietetics, hormone health, gut health, fertility optimization and medical weight management. Weston also collaborates with Donaldson's surgical and aesthetic teams, integrating functional medicine into pre- and post-operative care.

She is dual board-certified in family and sports medicine, holds an Institute for Functional Medicine certification and brings more than 20 years of clinical experience to the role.

"Columbus is a potpourri of entrepreneurial spirit, business-minded people and a population who really focuses on health, with the backdrop of phenomenal medical research and healthcare in general," Weston said in a statement distributed by the practice.

Outside the clinic, she speaks at community health events across Central Ohio, including menopause conferences at The Ohio State University and GLP-1 discussions at local breweries. She also delivered featured remarks at Columbus Monthly and Columbus CEO's "Inspiring Women 2026" event.
