Dublin Jerome’s boys cross country team won the Division I regional championship Saturday, Oct. 31, at Pickerington North, edging Gahanna Lincoln by two points to qualify for the state meet.
Carter Hutchinson led Jerome with a 15th-place individual finish. The regional title caps a fall in which Jerome swept both the boys and girls OCC-Cardinal Division championships.
State champions will be crowned in four divisions for both girls and boys at the OHSAA state championships at Fortress Obetz.
Jerome's girls team also competed at the regional, placing 10th. Emma Styn finished 11th individually and qualified for the state meet on her own. The Columbus Dispatch included Styn as a candidate in its central Ohio girls cross-country runner of the year poll after she won the OCC-Cardinal meet with a time of 18:56.
Jerome's dominance this fall extends across both programs. The Celtics won the OCC-Cardinal Division team titles in boys and girls cross country, according to the Marysville Journal-Tribune.
Jerome's boys team and individual qualifier Emma head to Fortress Obetz on Saturday, Nov. 7.
