Free fitness classes, live music, and outdoor movies are filling evenings at Riverside Crossing Park in Downtown Dublin through the end of October as part of the city's Summer Fun Series.

The series, which launched in early June, offers three weekly programming tracks at no cost to residents. Empower Hour fitness classes run every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m., led by certified instructors and sponsored by Orangetheory Fitness. Tuesday sessions lean toward yoga and low-impact movement, while Thursday classes focus on cardio and higher-intensity workouts. The city encourages attendees to bring a water bottle and fitness mat.

The remaining August fitness lineup includes Functional Strength and Mobility on Aug. 4; Strength & Stability on Aug. 6; Yoga on Aug. 11; Power Intervals on Aug. 13; Functional Strength and Mobility on Aug. 18; Cardio & Core on Aug. 20; Yoga on Aug. 25; and Strength & Stability on Aug. 27. All classes begin at 6 p.m.

The music portion of the series, Midweek Music, fills Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. through Aug. 19, with remaining dates on Aug. 5, Aug. 12, and Aug. 19. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Specific performer lineups for those dates have not been posted on the city's website.

Cinema Saturdays round out the series, screening movies on the last Saturday of each month at 6 p.m. Each night opens with a family-friendly G or PG-rated film, followed immediately by a second feature rated up to PG-13. The remaining schedule: "Finding Dory" on Saturday, Aug. 29; "Zootopia 2" on Saturday, Sept. 26; and "Coco" on Oct. 31, which falls on Halloween night. The city suggests bringing blankets and picking up dinner from Downtown Dublin restaurants to enjoy during the screenings.

"The Dublin community has always supported parks and recreation as an essential service … They engage with it heavily, so it's really to the credit of the community that we've had the growth that we've had," Tracey Uhl, the city's director of recreation services, told CityScene Magazine in May.

Dublin's Parks and Recreation Department is one of only 10 in Ohio to hold national accreditation through the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies.

All Summer Fun Series events are free and open to the public. Details are available at dublinohiousa.gov/summer-fun-series.
