Dublin is launching its first European-style Christmas market this fall at Riverside Crossing Park. Admission is free for the five-week run of German food, warm spiced wine and live entertainment.

Christkindlmarkt Dublin opens Nov. 21 and runs through Dec. 24 at the park at the base of the Dublin Link in Downtown Dublin, the city announced Aug. 28.

The market follows several years of city planning that began with a 2022 feasibility study and a competitive selection process. The city said Dublin City Council authorized a lease for Riverside Crossing Park at its Aug. 24 meeting. Christkindlmarkt Dublin, LLC, led by CEO Maria Adele Rosenfeld, was chosen to develop and operate the market.

Rosenfeld said in the city's announcement that the market aims to become a returning tradition where visitors "enjoy authentic flavors, explore authentic German gifts, and leave with memories they'll want to recreate year after year."

Visitors can expect German pretzels, sausages, Schnitzel and Käsespätzle. The centerpiece drink is Glühwein, a warm spiced wine that is a staple of traditional German Christmas markets. The market will also sell an inaugural 2026 collectible Glühwein mug, the first in a planned series of limited annual designs available only during each season. A collectible ornament will launch alongside the mug.

Artisan vendors selling handcrafted gifts and live entertainment round out the offerings. The city said additional details on specific vendors and performers will be announced in the coming months.

Leslie Rummel, head of marketing and communications for Visit Dublin Ohio, said the market positions Dublin as a destination for day-trip and overnight visitors across the region.
