Dublin Jerome High School is the top-ranked public high school in Ohio, according to Niche's 2026 school rankings.
The school-rating site evaluated 831 public high schools statewide and placed the 2,075-student Jerome campus first overall, as Dublin Daily first reported on Sept. 2. Jerome also earned the No. 3 spot statewide for college prep and No. 8 for teachers.
All three Dublin City Schools high schools landed in the top 65. Dublin Coffman ranked No. 19 overall and No. 5 in the state for teachers. Dublin Scioto came in at No. 64, with sub-rankings of No. 21 for college prep and No. 23 for diversity.
A separate Niche list that combines public and private schools places Jerome at No. 12. The No. 1 spot is on the public-school-only list.
How Niche builds its rankings
Niche released its 2026 rankings in September 2025, covering more than 93,000 public schools and 30,000 private schools nationwide. Dublin Daily highlighted the Ohio results locally on Sept. 1.
The rankings draw on academics, teacher quality, college preparation, student and parent reviews, school-reported graduation rates, and federal data from the U.S. Department of Education, according to a Niche press release. The 2026 edition dropped SAT and ACT scores. Niche said the change follows a broader de-emphasis on standardized testing in college admissions.
Niche founder and CEO Luke Skurman said in the September 2025 announcement that the rankings combine data with real experiences from students, parents and educators to help families evaluate schools.
A school at capacity
Jerome is growing fast. The school reached capacity even after a 60,000-square-foot addition opened in 2023, according to Dublin City Schools' Spring 2026 United Magazine. The district serves 17,049 students across 25 buildings as Ohio's ninth-largest.
Jerome's year extends beyond academics. The school's boys golf, girls golf and boys soccer teams each won Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division I state championships during the 2025-26 school year. The boys soccer title was Jerome's first ever in the sport, earned by beating a St. Ignatius team that had won six straight.
Dr. Bryan Arnold, a 2002 Dublin Scioto graduate who served as Jerome's assistant principal, took over as principal for the 2026-27 school year.
Dublin City Schools has not published an official response to the ranking. The district is conducting a redistricting process, with boundary changes set to take effect in August 2027 for the 2027-28 school year.
