All three Dublin high school football programs sit outside the playoff field with three regular-season games left. The Ohio High School Athletic Association's (OHSAA) Week 7 computer ratings, released Tuesday, Oct. 6, place Jerome, Scioto and Coffman below the 12-team cutline in Division I, Region 2.

Only the top 12 teams in each region qualify for the state playoffs, which begin Friday, Oct. 30.

Where each team stands

Jerome (2-5) ranks 14th with a 3.6071 rating average, two spots behind 12th-place Kettering Fairmont (3-4) and one spot behind Marysville (2-5, 3.9643). Scioto (1-6) holds a 2.6071 average at 16th. Coffman (1-6) ranks next to last at 19th with a 1.7857 average, ahead of only Central Crossing (0-7).

All three Dublin programs lost in Week 7 on Friday, Oct. 2. Jerome fell to Hilliard Darby 25-20. Scioto lost to St. Charles 14-12. Coffman dropped a 28-12 decision to Olentangy Orange.

What it would take

With two regular-season weeks remaining after Friday's games, each Dublin team would need to win out and get help from teams above them losing. Jerome sits two ranking places below the playoff cutoff, while Scioto faces a larger climb. Final qualification will depend on the remaining games and the results of opponents that contribute to each team’s computer rating. The Week 7 standings alone do not establish how many wins each Dublin team must secure to qualify.

The regular season ends the weekend of Oct. 23-24.

Week 8 schedule

All three Dublin squads play Ohio Capital Conference games Friday, Oct. 9. Coffman hosts Hilliard Davidson. Jerome hosts Olentangy Berlin in what doubles as the school's homecoming game, with a homecoming parade set for 5 p.m. along Brand Road and Hyland-Croy Road. Scioto travels to Delaware Hayes with kickoff set for 7 P.M.
