Dublin-area nonprofits and government agencies that serve older adults can apply for SourcePoint's 2027 community grants through Sept. 8.
The annual grant program funds efforts that address the needs of Delaware County's growing population of adults 55 and older, according to the Delaware Gazette. Dublin falls within SourcePoint's Delaware County service area, making local organizations eligible.
SourcePoint, a nonprofit based at 800 Cheshire Road in Delaware, identified six priority areas for the 2027 cycle:
- Aging in Place
- Caregiver Support
- Community-Built Environments
- Economic Stability
- Healthcare Access and Literacy
- Mental Health Awareness and Social Connectedness
SourcePoint said it prioritizes programs that fill gaps in existing services rather than duplicate them.
Those six areas align with goals in Delaware County's second Age-Friendly Action Plan, which AARP approved in May. Spearheaded by SourcePoint and the Delaware Public Health District, the plan outlines strategies to improve transportation, housing, social participation and health services for older adults, according to a SourcePoint announcement at the time.
SourcePoint CEO Fara Waugh highlighted the organization's broader mission in a May statement marking Older Americans Month, saying older adults "continue to give their time, wisdom, and energy to make Delaware County stronger."
More than 60,000 volunteer hours are contributed annually to SourcePoint-supported programs, including meal delivery, enrichment activities and services that help residents stay independent, according to the organization.
SourcePoint's programs are funded through the local senior services levy, private and corporate donations, grants and the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging.
Application materials, participation conditions and frequently asked questions are posted at MySourcePoint.org/grants. The total size of the 2027 grant pool has not been announced.
