Dublin has hired Jeremy Hoyt, Marysville's assistant city manager, to lead its Division of Engineering as the city manages a $375 million, five-year capital plan and a wave of major construction projects.

Hoyt will become Dublin's Director of Engineering after his last day in Marysville on Aug. 21. The Marysville Journal-Tribune reported the hire on July 29.

The role puts Hoyt at the center of Dublin's development surge. Projects already in the engineering pipeline include the $7.8 million Northern Historic District road reconstruction, now underway with completion targeted for summer 2027; infrastructure work tied to the Bridge North mixed-use development, whose final plan the Planning and Zoning Commission approved July 10; and capital improvements at the 243-acre SportsOhio site Dublin acquired for $44.6 million in October 2024 to anchor its Premier Athletic and Recreation Campus.

The city's 2026–2030 Capital Improvement Budget earmarks $3.8 million for SportsOhio improvements this year alone, according to Dublin's economic development office. The broader capital plan funds road upgrades, utility work and technology improvements while revitalizing Metro Center.

Hoyt brings 17 years of municipal engineering and infrastructure experience from Marysville. He joined that city in 2009 as assistant city engineer, rose to city engineer in 2013, became public service director in 2020 and was named assistant city manager in 2026. During that stretch he oversaw the design of the Raymond Road Water Treatment Plant and construction of the building housing the Marysville Municipal Court and Police Division.

"Jeremy's deep understanding of our city was clear from day one," Marysville City Manager Kimberly Sharp said in a July 29 statement. "We appreciate his expertise and dedication to Marysville, and we thank him for his years of service to our community."

Dublin has not announced a specific start date for Hoyt.
