Northwest Bancshares, the publicly traded parent company of Northwest Bank, plans to move its corporate headquarters and roughly 120 employees from Columbus to Dublin, Columbus Business First reported on Aug. 5.

The Nasdaq-listed company (ticker: NWBI) currently operates from 3 Easton Oval in Columbus. The specific Dublin location has not been publicly disclosed.

Dublin City Council is scheduled to consider a first-reading incentive agreement tied to the relocation at its Aug. 10 meeting. The move has not been finalized. A second reading and final vote would follow at a subsequent session before any deal is formalized. The terms and dollar value of the proposed incentive package have not been made public.

The relocation would mark a significant corporate win for Dublin's office corridor. The city landed another 120-job headquarters commitment the same week, when Canadian energy company Cenovus Energy chose Bridge Park for its U.S. base.

Northwest Bank, founded in 1896, operated 151 full-service financial centers across Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and Indiana as of June 30. The company reported record second-quarter net income of $54 million on July 27, a 59% jump from the same period in 2025. CEO Lou Torchio cited the bank's Columbus-market momentum in that earnings release, noting the team was "already making an impact in the Columbus market, attracting new talent, customers, and deposits."

The Dublin move fits a broader Central Ohio expansion. Northwest opened its first local branch at 5746 N. Hamilton Road in New Albany on July 29, with three more financial centers planned by year's end in Columbus, Gahanna and Westerville, plus one slated for early 2027.

"This opening is an important milestone for Northwest Bank and a reflection of our investment and the momentum we're building in Central Ohio," Torchio said at the New Albany ribbon-cutting on July 29.

Columbus Business First characterized the departure as happening amid a slowdown in new office construction in Columbus.

Residents can attend the Aug. 10 council meeting or monitor the city's agenda for details on the incentive agreement once the packet is published.
