Dublin Coffman football players, coaches and families gather Aug. 12, for the program's second annual Community Kickoff, marking the official community launch of the Shamrocks' 80th season.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m., nine days before the team opens Division I play at Bishop Hartley.

Head coach Nick McVay's squad has been in preseason camp since Aug. 1, working toward a bounce-back year. The Shamrocks went 2-8 in 2025.

The Community KO gives fans their first look at the roster heading into the fall.

Leading the way is quarterback Jack Morris, who earned the program's Off-Season IRON ROCK award on July 8. The Dublin Coffman Football account announced Morris was recognized for his dedication in the weight room, in the classroom and for raising the standard among teammates throughout the off-season.

That off-season also included the program's inaugural Shamrock Games in early July, a conditioning event bridging summer work into mini-camp.

The 80th-season milestone traces back to 1947, when Coffman first fielded a football team. Since then, the Shamrocks have claimed 18 league championships and reached the OHSAA Division I Final Four in 2001, 2003 and 2007. The program promoted the Community Kickoff through its official social media channels, drawing shares from the Central District Football Coaches Association and Dublin Grizzell Middle School Athletics.

The Shamrocks open the season Aug. 21, at Bishop Hartley with a 7 p.m. kickoff. They return home to host Big Walnut on Aug. 28, then welcome crosstown rival Dublin Jerome on Sept. 4.
