Residents on 23 Dublin streets will see paving crews, flaggers and brief traffic delays beginning Aug. 31, as Strawser Construction performs crack sealing and mastic repairs through Sept. 4.

No full road closures are planned. The city said flaggers and rolling operations will keep traffic moving, though drivers and pedestrians should expect short waits while crews work.

The streets are concentrated in the Dublinshire, Heather Glen and Wynford-area neighborhoods:

Black Abbey Ct, Brigids Close Dr, Chatham Ct, Donegal Cliffs Dr, Dublinshire Dr, Dunleary Dr, Enfield Trace, Gaelic Ct, Grafton End, Haddler Ct, Heather Glen Blvd, Heather Glen Ct, Hirth Rd, Kendall Ridge Loop, Lerwick Dr, Rothesay Ct, Round Tower Ln, Scotia Ct, Scotsman Ct, Tusswell Dr, Wyndburne Dr, Wynford Dr and Wynwright Dr.

The schedule is weather-dependent.

What the work involves

Crack sealing fills surface cracks to prevent water from seeping beneath the pavement and causing deeper damage. Mastic repairs use a heavier asphalt-based compound to patch larger surface defects. Both are preventive treatments that extend a road's life before a full resurfacing becomes necessary.

Part of a larger program

The work falls under Dublin's annual street maintenance program, which began its 2026 season April 27. The broader program includes resurfacing, curb and gutter replacement, base stabilization and ADA-compliant curb ramp installation across the city.

Public bid records show the 2026 program carries engineer's estimates of $3.62 million for Phase 1 and $4.2 million for Phase 2, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 9.

Earlier in the summer, the city hired Resource International to conduct pavement testing on various streets using a sensor-equipped trailer, collecting condition data that helps determine which roads get priority treatment.
