On the issues
Judicial fairness and impartiality: Boller said the most important aspect of the bench is to be fair and impartial. "Domestic Relations is a court of equity; therefore, it is essential to have a judge striving to find fair and equitable results for all litigants and parties," she said in her Dispatch questionnaire response.
Juvenile crime and rehabilitation: Boller said rehabilitation is not at odds with protecting the community. She called it the most effective way to achieve public safety long term. She said she would use holistic and evidence-based practices to hold children accountable while addressing the environment that led to the offense.
Child safety in dependency and custody cases: Boller said appointing highly trained guardians ad litem is vital. She said a guardian ad litem's job is to conduct a thorough investigation independent of children services and represent the best interest of the child. A case should close only when professionals agree there is no longer a protective need, she said.
