Early in-person voting opened Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Franklin County Board of Elections, 1700 Morse Road in Columbus.

Dublin-area residents registered to vote in Franklin County can cast ballots ahead of the Nov. 3 general election, which features races for governor, U.S. Senate and Congress, along with a statewide ballot issue and local property tax levies.

The Board of Elections is also mailing 68,515 absentee ballots to Franklin County voters who submitted applications, according to a Dublin Chamber of Commerce announcement.

"Before you vote, take a look at your sample ballot so you know what will be on it," Franklin County Board of Elections Director Antone White said Monday, Oct. 5.

What's on the ballot

The governor's race features Republican Vivek Ramaswamy against Democrat Amy Acton. The U.S. Senate contest features incumbent Republican Jon Husted against Democrat Sherrod Brown, NBC4 reported.

Voters statewide will also decide Issue 3, a proposed constitutional amendment requiring photo identification to vote.

Nine local property tax levies appear on ballots across Franklin County, though the specific measures vary by address. Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano launched a Levy Estimator tool that lets property owners search by address to see which levies apply and estimate the dollar impact.

Absentee voting deadlines

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. That date matters. Under Ohio law, completed ballots must reach the Board of Elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3.

Voters can return absentee ballots in person at 1700 Morse Road or use the secure 24-hour drop box outside the office.

Residents can check their registration, view a sample ballot and track an absentee ballot through the Franklin County Board of Elections website. Election Day polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
