Dublin residents can catch two free movies under the stars on Sept. 26 when the Cinema Saturdays series screens "Zootopia 2" and "Superman" (2025) at Riverside Crossing Park.
The double feature is part of Ohio Goes to the Movies (OGTTM), a statewide film series tied to America 250-Ohio, the state commission marking the nation's 250th anniversary. The program has now secured at least one free screening in all 88 Ohio counties, NBC4 reported.
Both films carry Ohio ties. "Zootopia 2" features voice work from Canton native Nate Torrence. "Superman" was filmed in the state, stars Cleveland-born Isabela Merced and is based on the character created by Clevelanders Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
The G/PG-rated film begins at 6 p.m., according to the city's event calendar. The PG-13 screening follows immediately after.
The city's listing encourages guests to bring blankets and grab dinner in Downtown Dublin beforehand. The park is at 6625 Riverside Dr.
Each venue in the OGTTM series chose its own film from the program's Ohio Movie Database. Molly Kreuzman, the program's director, told NBC4 on Sept. 4 that the 88-county goal took sustained outreach. "Neighboring counties saw what others were doing and wanted to get involved and bring OGTTM to their communities," she said.
The series has logged more than 300 free screenings statewide and runs through October. September alone features more than 50 events, with four new counties joining the lineup.
Cinema Saturdays is part of the broader Dublin Summer Fun Series, which also includes free outdoor fitness classes and live music at Riverside Crossing Park. The series previously screened "Finding Dory" and "Draft Day" on Aug. 29 as part of the OGTTM program.
Dublin has woven America 250 into several existing events this year, including the Independence Day parade and the Dublin Irish Festival. Jim Loch, the city's events administrator, told CityScene Magazine in May that organizers saw a chance to fold the anniversary celebration into programming residents already attend.
