A failing storm sewer pipe has caused sinkholes near Dublin Road at Tuttle Road, prompting the city to plan an approximately five-day closure of Dublin Road at that location for emergency repairs.

The closure is expected to begin in early November, though the city has not set a firm start date. The exact timing depends on material availability and contractor scheduling, according to a construction update posted by the city on Oct. 27.

Crews will remove a deteriorated galvanized storm sewer pipe, install new storm sewer infrastructure and repave the road with new asphalt once the work is finished.

While Dublin Road is closed at Tuttle Road, through traffic will follow a posted detour: Dublin Road to Frantz Road to Rings Road and back to Dublin Road. Detour signs will be posted throughout the area.

Local access will be maintained where possible. Emergency services will be accommodated through the work zone as needed.

The city described the work as necessary to address the failing pipe before it causes further damage to the roadway. No project cost, contractor name or pipe specifications were included in the city's announcement.
