Dublin will hold a community gathering at Washington Township Fire Station 93 on Sept. 11 to mark the 25th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The event, called "We Remember, Together – 9/11," is listed on the city's official calendar. The city described it as a chance to honor the lives lost, the first responders who acted and the spirit of service. No specific start time or street address for Station 93 appeared in the listing.

Several more memorial ceremonies are planned across central Ohio between Sept. 9 and Sept. 14. Here are the events closest to Dublin.

Central Ohio stair climbs

The Central Ohio 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb takes place Sept. 13 at Marv Moorehead Memorial Stadium at Upper Arlington High School. The Upper Arlington city government lists a 9 a.m. start. UA Fire and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation organized the event. Each participant climbs the equivalent of 110 stories, the height of the World Trade Center towers, in tribute to a New York Fire Department firefighter who died that day. Registration costs $40, and participation is capped at 400. Proceeds support NFFF programs for families of local fallen firefighters and the FDNY Counseling Service Unit.

At Ohio Stadium in Columbus, the OSU 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb begins Sept. 11 with check-in at 5:15 a.m. The event, now in its 10th year, is open to first responders, military members, veterans, students, faculty, staff, alumni and the public. Advance registration is required. About 1,400 people participated in 2025; organizers expect 1,500 to 1,600 this year.

Maj. Kevin Overmeyer of the Ohio State ROTC program told WYSO on Tuesday, Sept. 8, that the climb brings people together "to have a shared understanding of what that means and experience what some of the first responders did on that day."

Hilliard ceremony

Hilliard will hold its commemoration at 9 a.m. Sept. 11, at Hilliard's Station Park. Retired Army Maj. Gen. Deborah Ashenhurst, director of the Ohio Department of Veterans Services and a Hilliard resident who served more than 37 years in the U.S. Army and Ohio National Guard, will deliver the keynote. Hilliard Chief of Police Michael Woods and Norwich Township Fire Battalion Chief Heith Good will also speak. A joint Hilliard Police-Norwich Fire Honor Guard will lay a wreath at First Responders Park.
