Dublin Coffman football is heading into its 80th season, and the Shamrocks want the community along for the ride.

The program, which dates to 1947, announced the milestone on Aug. 5, as preseason camp moved through its first week. Head coach Nick McVay's squad opened practice Aug. 1 alongside nearly 100 central Ohio teams beginning the three-week grind toward opening night, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

Leading the charge into camp is quarterback Jack Morris, who earned the program's Off-Season Iron Rock award on July 8. The team's official account cited his dedication in the weight room, in the classroom and for consistently raising the standard for teammates.

Morris and the Shamrocks will be front and center at the Coffman Football Community Kickoff on Aug. 12, at 6:30 p.m. The program is asking supporters to register online to reserve a spot at the event, which aims to rally support ahead of the season opener.

That opener comes Aug. 21, at Bishop Hartley, with kickoff at 7 p.m.

Coffman is looking to bounce back after a 2-8 campaign in 2025. The program's history page, linked by Coffman Athletics on Wednesday, catalogs 18 league championships and OHSAA Division I Final Four appearances in 2001, 2003 and 2007.

The buildup to the season has been deliberate. The team held its inaugural Shamrock Games in early July to cap the off-season conditioning period before transitioning into mini-camp. Seven weeks later, the pads are on.

After the Bishop Hartley trip, Coffman hosts Big Walnut on Aug. 28, and then welcomes crosstown rival Dublin Jerome on Sept. 4.
