The shared-use path through Riviera Park will close Monday, Sept. 28, while the city replaces the wooden deck on the park's pedestrian bridge off Firenza Drive.

Crews will remove and replace the bridge's existing wooden deck, add hand railings and paint the existing beams underneath, according to a construction update posted by the city on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The city lists November 2026 as the target completion date.

Barricades will block both ends of the path at the bridge. A signed detour will route walkers and cyclists onto Firenza Place and DiCesare Loop, two neighborhood streets near the bridge, before reconnecting with the shared-use path on the other side of the closure.

The detour will be in place until the project's target completion in November 2026.

The city's announcement did not name a contractor, list a project cost or provide a specific reopening date beyond November 2026.
